Taking it Easy

Completed the Indian cooking course. The dishes we made were very delicious - so I called our chef 'Maestro'. He liked it. Sometimes when he was chopping an onion, he'd be deep in concentration, and he'd say 'Maestro' to himself.

Sat and watched Buddhists turn the prayer wheels. They make such a beautiful sound - it seems like a really satisfying thing to do. So we turned a few as well.

I had a ridiculous hippo tattoo on my shoulder. Now I don't. Sarita and the Japanese Tattoo Artist designed a new one for me. I couldn't always see what they were up to, as they were drawing on my shoulder. It's some sort of a weird design.

We ended up watching a movie a night, and going for a Tibetan Massage, and eating great food, and just taking it easy.

Met this guy who spent several weeks looking for a Red Indian tribe in America. He dreamt of the place before he found it in Montana (he also found an Eagle Feather - the sign he was waiting for to go). When he explained this to the chief, he told him it wasn't a dream, it was a vision. And the chief's name was Eagle Feather (not that unusual I suppose - but anyway). He had also seen a bear in his visions, and after they performed the sundance over a several days, a bear appeared on the site of the dance.

Reminds me of:

"I don't see visions because I am an Indian, I see visions because there are visions to be seen."
