Still in Manali

Yup. Still in Manali. We did leave today, and what a clear hot day, but had to turn around after half an hour because of several large landslides spreading out their load over the pass. One of them even took out a bridge. Some say one hour before motorbikes can go, others three or four. Don't know who these people are. Anyway, it'll take about three or four days to repair the bridge and clear out all the rocks.

On the way back in a corner, an oncoming jeep decided to stop on my road - my side of the road - in the corner. On my side of the road, coming around the corner, in the corner. There was a chai stall on this side of the road, that he wanted to get a tea from, leaning out his window. There was place on the other side of the road, on his side of the road. But. I stalled because of emergency braking. Can't find neutral. The usual. I was now in his way because he still needed to inch forward a little. He tells me he needs to stop here. I say I need to drive here. No point. Couldn't kickstart. Decided to leave my back as is, get off sit down in the shade take off my helmet and just breathe and look at the beautiful river. Let him be Indian.

Going to Dharamsala instead (my use of the letter 'h' in place names must remain haphazard in lieu of a guidebook or map). Home of the Dalai Lama. He'll be in Leh.
